Hi, didn't come on last night cos the last thing I wanna do is gloat. I wasn't there, but was there really so much difference between the sides? Not really it appears, as your posters have said a good couple of additions might make all the difference. Your central defence got rave reviews from the Reading commentary box.
At the end I guess it was like I had imagined - Reading mentally needed to get a result because with this Russian takeover we're expected to do things now. And we were play-off finalists, so not making at least play-offs would be considered a step backward. Plus every season with manager McDermott we do second half table surges - our fear is that we're up there too soon though, we usually leave it to far later.
I'd also just like to give your forum all the credit it deserves - it's been one of the discoveries of the season for us; great banter, respect both sides, and is simply a class above most other forums. Keep it up lads, and you've always got an open space with 'Royals Rendezvous' ... :) :) :)

At the start of this season there seemed to be a really strong team spirit, and despite a lack of a truly creative mid-fielder ( or two) there was a terrific workrate which made up for any shortcomings. This appears to have deserted us..........what happened??

Both teams were poor, if we had been on our game we would of beaten Reading no doubt, and I'm sure if they had been on theres we would of had a much worse scoreline then 1-0. Completely toothless upfront, didn't hold the ball up at all and the ball just came back at us. Though Carroll was poor, just an underweight Bailey, doesn't want to challenge and just gets knocked off way to easily in the championship. I'd consider dropping both Carroll and Ball for Bailey and Steve Davies. Didn't think Tyson offered much either. Thought our best two players were Barker and Shackell which is bad considering we were at home. :(

I agree to giving Steve Davies a go. In my opinion whenever he's been fit in his Derby career so far he's made a positive contribution. He can control the ball and can score a goal with his hammer left foot. We need a goal. I'd like to see him start at Southampton.

We already have quite a few little guys. A big polish guy would be better.

Cywka wouldnt make a blind bit of difference to us - he would just run into a dead end, fail to pass to a team mate or put in a decent cross

well that was awful, I was in two minds whether to go or not because I had an asthma attack on sunday night and am on steroids for my chest. I wish I never made the effort, no direction, no creatvity, no atmosphere and glick wants us to pay more to watch this perfunctory nonsense. Reading looked comfortable, their two forwards in roberts and hunt was it looked sharp and caused problems.

Feck it,I'm on steroids full time and I can't come up with that kind of class :D

I suppose the rest of them are popping it around for fun and creating bucket loads for our lively and dangerous strikers.

No they are not, but more of the same by a different player won't change how we are playing

Was he playing right back for us in a ginger wig then?

He can p*ss off back to where he came from ;) Flair players at Derby are a thing of the past, we'll all so excited for when we'll be top of the financial fairplay league...it is a league right?!

On a serious note, Reading came and did the job, a really accomplished away performance. We had nothing upfront to even ruffle a feather. I would say you were one of our bogey sides but we've been beaten that often in the last 5 years we'd have half a league of nominations to sieve through.

Free parking?

How come? We paid £4 in WS car park.

I just drove up to the ground 2 mins after the start and he said "just park over the right hand side, no point in paying now" so I didn't argue!
