Scottish Premier side cast eye over winger

DERBY County winger Lee Croft is attracting interest from Scottish Premier League club St Johnstone.
Croft is not featuring for the first team and could go on loan until the end of the season as Derby continue to move fringe players through the exit at Pride Park.

The 26-year-old started four of the first seven matches of the campaign but he has not played since the defeat at Middlesbrough in October.
St Johnstone sit fifth in the SPL and lost 2-1 at home to Rangers on Saturday.

Fair play to him, it never really worked out at Derby, and I'd rather have Green, Davies or [Insert new RM bought in the summer] anyway. St. Johnstone seems like a strange one (if true), good luck though Lee (who will be moved on whether this particular move works out or not).

Croft will be the SPL's version of Cristiano Ronaldo. The SPL's Messi is Commons so that should be an epic duel.

How lucky are Scottish football fans, I have no idea why the big teams want to join the EPL when you've got wingers like Gary Teale and potentially Lee Croft playing up there. Different class.

U ever had a deep fried mars bar? Like most Scottish cuisine it's so wrong but so bloody right!

Anyway, hope Crofty will be off the wages soon cos although he seems a sound lad he just hasnt cut it here. Will be on a decent chunk u'd think after being on a free. Good luck to him.

Has he actually gone yet as despite the fact that everyone is talking about his DCFC career in the past tense, I can't find anything that suggests he has..

Sky Sports understands Derby County winger Lee Croft has joined SPL side St Johnstone on loan for the remainder of the season.

Croft has not featured for the Rams since mid-October and manager Nigel Clough had been expected to let the 26-year-old move on in the January transfer window.

Clough has confirmed that there is an opportunity for the former Norwich City wide man to play regular football with St Johnstone.

"It is an opportunity for Lee to go and get some games with a view to doing something in the summer," said Clough in the Derby Evening Telegraph regarding the possibility of a deal.

It is understood that Croft has now linked up with Steve Lomas' side and he could be in contention for Saturday's SPL fixture against Hibernian.
